Cable TV, available throughout the flats/houses, is provided by Virgin Media, a national supplier who can also provide Telephone and Internet Services. Satellite dishes and other aerials are not permitted on the flats. Houses may have satellite dishes as long as they are not visible from the road.

The colour of the render on the front of the houses is Buttermilk which is provided by a company called K-Rend. Render cleaners and colour enhancers are also available.  Their website is  www.k-rend.co.uk and their telephone number is 078 7876 3309.  

It’s a very specialist plastering technique and it is recommended that you use someone experienced with using this product to apply it.  A resident has used a Portsmouth based comapny and was happy with their work.  See Tradesmen Recommendations for name and contact number.

A possible cause of some of the exterior wall staining found on some of the properties is rainwater and airborne dust washing through the mortar beds between the decorative nosing stones.

It has been suggested a possible solution to this problem would be to use a high pressure washer to clean away the stains on the render, and use it to clean away any algae/dirt in the precipice gutters.  To prevent further staining a little pointing and the application of a waterproof sealent should be used on any joints to prevent further water escaping onto the render. Since the render is pre-coloured, a high pressure washer would be unlikely to strip away the colour.

Parts of the development use the Crabtree Rocker Grid system.  These can't be easily found at the likes of B&Q.  A specialist wholesaler for Crabtree is Electrium. They can be found at www.electrium.co.uk. Another potential source in Kingston is City Electrical Factors Ltd.

There is an ongoing problem with respect to the stick on struts for the windows on the properties on the estate.

Unfortunately the company, New Build Windows, that supplied the fittings originally have since gone out of business.

A possible source of window handles with locking mechanism is handlestore.com.  A resident has used them in the past to replace a handle with a 15mm spindle that had a key broken off inside.
